StrOboBatt project start

Partnership between PCC Thorium GmbH, Fraunhofer Institut Solare Energiesysteme ISE and Glatt for the development of high-performance materials for energy storage. Development of structure- and surface-optimized silicon anodes and high-energy cathodes for energy-dense lithium-ion batteries for stationary energy storage solutions. The Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) is funding the “StrOboBatt” project under the reference number FKZ 03ETE051A.

ACHEMA 2024, Hall 3.0, Stand H4: Glatt presents a pilot coating module. Now: Fully continuous coating in all scales for non-pharmaceutical applications. The GFC 16 process module, which the market leader for fluidised bed and spouted bed technology will be showcasing at ACHEMA in Frankfurt, expands the performance spectrum of pilot systems at the Glatt Technology Centre in Weimar. One application example is the coating of fertilisers with biopolymers to specifically control the release of ingredients.

The increasing demand for applications within electromobility or stationary energy storage requires the implementation of novel, sustainable and continuous manufacturing processes as well as processes for coating active materials. Aerosol-based methods based on spray drying / spray calcination and spray granulation by powder synthesis and fluid bed technology are presented using selected examples. First results on electrochemical characterisation are shown.

Glatt joins forces with Merck for cosmetic pigment production – Festive inauguration of the Dryflux facility

On 30 June 2023, a completely new type of production plant for special effect pigments was officially commissioned at the Glatt Technology Centre. The Darmstadt-based Merck Group placed the order for the development and construction of a plant based on chemical vapour deposition (CVD). The Dryflux technology is suitable for numerous powder applications.
