Continuous process for manufacturing powders with customis-able properties – Whatever the field – medical engineering, battery technology or special pigments – companies looking to develop new applications for high-performance materials are dependent on new and innovative production technologies. A milestone in the produc-tion of customised powders has now been reached in Weimar, Germany.
A new thermal process for powder production – Advanced Pulse Powder Technology – is designed to enable targeted particle design. Manufacturers of advanced ceramics can thus achieve unique and customized product properties. (Article in German language)
Glatt Ingenieurtechnik developed a new powder technology that allows powder composition and particle design to be adjusted to meet a customer’s specific application needs. By synthesising the powder in a pulsed hot gas stream, product structures can now be generated that were not accessible with conventional techniques.

Tailor-made – this stands for unique, high-quality and suitable. The Apptec process developed by Glatt for powder synthesis, on the other hand, leaves little room for chance. With a pulsating hot gas stream, this further development of spray pyrolysis enables unerring particle design for application fields such as catalyst and pigment development.
